SEER-MFG with the Aerostructures Plug-in is the heart of our cost evaluation on the F-35.

Galorath Incorporated, the producer of the SEER project estimating software is pleased to have received official notification that Galorath's Plug-in for Aerostructures, formerly known as the Composites Affordability Initiative Plug-in, has been freed from restrictions for international sales. This means Galorath can offer SEER for Manufacturing - Aerostructures Edition to customers in any country with which the United States allows trade, as well as use by non-US citizens.
Galorath is proud to have worked with several leading American aerospace manufacturers (Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and GE Aircraft Engines) in a major cooperative effort to develop the Aerostructures plug-in. The plug-in provides a method for quickly and accurately evaluating the cost of alternate composite materials and manufacturing processes.
Specifically, the Aerostructures Plug-in for SEER-MFG provides a direct cost model, which includes over 25 existing and emerging composite fabrication and assembly processes, as well as some state-of-the-art metal processes such as high speed machining and Super Plastic Forming-w-Diffusion Bonding providing a method for quickly and accurately determining and evaluating costs of alternate designs and manufacturing processes. SEER-MFG with its Aerostructures plug-in enables an increased number of trade studies in a shorter period of time resulting in cost reductions by the early identification of the most affordable composite structural concepts with greater dependability than previously possible.
In a case study from Northrop Grumman, they stated: "SEER-MFG with the Aerostructures Plug-in is the heart of our cost evaluation on the F-35." "Assessments of cost for assembly and composite operations come out of the plug-in, and it provides the totalness and versatility that is required in aerospace engineering that was not available before." Both Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin engineers for the F-35 program had established SEER-MFG with the Aerostructures Plug-in as the "tool of choice." It is being used daily to perform trade studies and as an affordability tool.
For more than two decades Galorath Incorporated has developed solutions to help government and commercial organizations plan and manage complex software, hardware, electronics and manufacturing projects. Leveraging sophisticated modeling technology and project-applicable knowledge bases, SEER solutions enable engineers, project managers, cost analysts and IT professionals worldwide to simulate and analyze alternative project scenarios, develop and optimize detailed project plans and ensure that projects stay on track and meet objectives for functionality, cost, effort, duration and quality. Combined with extensive consulting and support services, SEER by Galorath is the most comprehensive, intuitive project estimation and management solution in the industry.
