Detroit, MI (PRWEB) September 6, 2009
Budco, the Highland Park-based fulfillment and direct marketing company, today announced that it has been selected as one of "Metropolitan Detroit's 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For" by the Michigan Business & Professional Association. This is the third time Budco has received this honor, first in 2001 and again in 2006.
The company was evaluated based on various workplace issues such as compensation and benefits, educational and development initiatives, recruiting and retention practices, and community involvement. In addition, a random sample of staff members was asked to evaluate Budco in a confidential survey.
"Because the companies selected have created impressive organizational value and business results through their policies and best practices in human resource management, we believe it is important to recognize their accomplishments, especially at a time when all businesses are being challenged in ways never before seen," said MBPA Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Jennifer Kluge.
"Winning this honor is really appreciated since Budco is very people-oriented. We have always focused on the policies and best practices that not only enhance our organization and our ability to serve our customers but also make us an employer of choice. Realizing the critical role our employees have in our success, we strive to provide a positive and challenging atmosphere where their contributions can be recognized. We work diligently to provide human resources practices that not only attract the best and brightest, but provide our current staffers with opportunities for career growth and community involvement," added Budco Vice President, Human Resources, Training and Development Annette Watts.
Metro Detroit's 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For is sponsored by: AT&T Michigan, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Corp! Magazine, Davenport University, DTE Energy, Pepsi Bottling Group, Douglas Marketing, The Designate, Strategic Staffing Solutions, WJBK Fox 2, HRAGD, Detroit Athletic Club, and McGraw Wentworth.
MBPA will honor all 101 winning companies and present 11 elite awards at the annual event held in October. The selection of the winning companies is the result of independent research that evaluates each entry in the following categories: communication, community initiatives, compensation and benefits, diversity and multiculturalism, employee education and development, employee engagement and commitment, recognition and retention, small business, recruitment and selection, and work-life balance.
