God Is a Brown Girl, Too looks beyond tradition to explore the unlimited presence of God in the lives of women worldwide, who have often been the most marginalized of society.
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 6, 2009
God is a Brown Girl, Too®, a spiritual retreat and self-empowerment conference series, offers workshops and private consultations, aimed at helping women create more love in their lives, wholeness and healing for their past, vision for their future, and a deeper perspective of God, the Bible, and scripture. The first retreat in the God is Brown Girl Too Series, entitled "Opening to Consciousness" will be held Saturday, October 24, 2009, from 10:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. at the 1199 Conference Center in Times Square, New York City. Registration is $150 until October 10th and available at God is a Brown Girl Too. General registration is $175 after that date.
Founded by the Reverend Cecilia Loving, God is a Brown Girl Too® is designed to provide women with a new story of self-love, self-esteem and self-empowerment. The retreat workshops and hands-on activities will promote agape, unconditional love for women of color and the world, by learning the power of releasing the past, revitalizing in the now, and transforming for the future.
For Rev. Loving, "God Is a Brown Girl, Too looks beyond tradition to explore the unlimited presence of God in the lives of women worldwide, who have often been the most marginalized of society."
The workshops will feature a diverse panel of facilitators, including spiritual teachers, women's advocates, life coaches, wellness trainers and entrepreneurs. They are Michelle Bernard, Raquiba LaBrie, Caryl Lucas, Sherri Roberts Lumpkin, and Myreah Moore -- all of whom have a wealth of knowledge from years of study and practicing these life changing tools.
A series of sessions, aimed at nourishing the mind, body and spirit will include topics such as: cleansing the mind through forgiveness, spiritual de-cluttering, breathing love through yoga, speaking truth to power through affirmations, healing the body through doll-making, surrendering the old through release, creating abundance through visualization, and transforming the body through lessons on proper nutrition and exercise.
Rev. Loving is also the founder of SPIRITMUV®, a non-denominational church in New York City Spiritmuv . As pastor of SPIRITMUV®, Rev. Loving has an ongoing ministry which follows the teachings of Jesus Christ through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Spiritmuv's teachings are grounded in God as Love and the Kingdom of God within, as well as other spiritual teachings that resonate with the message of Christ consciousness, including Buddhist, Hindu, Native American, African, and other spiritual traditions. Pastor Loving's vision is to bring spiritual empowerment to people of all races, religions and ethnic groups through her community of faith, her words of wisdom and her voice of vision. To learn more about her spiritual teachings, her book Prayers For Those Standing on the Edge of Greatness can be purchased at Prayers.
