In the average commercial kitchen, energy efficient equipment pays for itself and more after a short period of time.

When it comes to cooking, Alan Lamoureux, founder of http://www.EnergyCookingEquipment.com, has done it all.
"My entire career has been rooted in the inner workings of commercial kitchens, having served as an executive chef, proprietor and culinary director," said Lamoureux. "From my experience, I know that all businesses in the foodservice industry are looking to cut energy costs to become more profitable and help the environment."
When Lamoureux launched his website in November of 2008, he didn't want to provide just commercial grade cooking equipment, he wanted to offer energy efficient cooking equipment that would appeal to business owners and proprietors in the foodservice industry.
"Green kitchens are a real hot button issue in foodservice right now," said Lamoureux. "The average commercial kitchen consumes about two and a half times more energy per square foot than any other than any other commercial operation out there, and that's why it's so important to think about energy efficient commercial kitchen equipment."
In order to better educate people on the benefits of energy efficient cooking equipment, Lamoureux created a new blog at http://www.EnergyEfficientCooking.com.
"On the blog I want to make the immediate and residual benefits of owning energy efficient restaurant equipment well known," said Lamoureux. "I think the blog will also be a driving force that encourages me to keep up with the latest advancements in energy efficient cooking, and in turn, share those insights with others."
Lamoureux believes his website will appeal most to foodservice business owners and proprietors looking to reduce costs and contribute to a greener environment. Lamoureux also notes that in the current economic climate, now is the perfect time to invest in the future.
"Even though the initial cost of upgrading to energy efficient equipment can be significant, there are so many benefits down the road," said Lamoureux. "In the average commercial kitchen, energy efficient equipment pays for itself and more after a short period of time."
