Chicago, Illinois (PRWEB) September 11, 2009
NarrWare, developer of transmedia entertainment experiences, today announced that it launched a new open source community game making and video game network for narrative designers at http://www.narrativedesigners.net.
The Narrative Designer's Network was created to support creative professionals within the game making and video game industry that find themselves between the blurred lines of interactive entertainment, writing and design. The network is dedicated to support fellow narrative designers, foster discussion and to evangelize the burgeoning craft of interactive narrative design.
Stephen E. Dinehart, creative director of NarrWare, said "Interactive narrative design is a new breed of design that is evolving into unknown territories. It brings together the divergence crafts of writing and design into a single discipline, one which aims to create interactive experiences of a new dramatic caliber."
"As a group, we are dedicated to foster, support and nurture each other and the specialty which is our craft."
The site's mission is to explore, learn and evolve the craft of narrative design. Its features include: Narrator - the newest e-publication dedicated to narrative designers shop talk. Encyclopedia - a community Wiki serving to create a common narrative design lexicon. Forum - discussions, exploration and critique of interactive narrative design. And, Exploratorium - e-publication focused on the outer-limits of interactive story telling.
