Top Resume Writing Professionals Offer Services for Free To Lend Helping Hand to Less Fortunate

Professional resume writers gathering for their annual national convention September 23-25, 2009 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Annapolis, MD will be providing free, polished, professional resumes for 20 unemployed workers who might not have been able to afford this service. Many of The National Resume Writer's Association (The NRWA) members are already participating in philanthropic work in their own communities, but are taking the opportunity to "pay it forward" to the city of Annapolis where approximately 150 career professionals will be participating in this conference later this month.

"In a time when so many people are looking for work, our association was looking for a way to make a positive impact capitalizing on the fact that all of our top resume writing industry talent will be all in one location for our conference," NRWA President Robyn Feldberg.

In the recent Resume Writers Recession Survey conducted by The NRWA, Resume Writers Digest and the Career Management Alliance memberships indicated that 27 percent of professional resume writers have seen increased business as candidates look for ways to become even more competitive for fewer jobs. According to Feldberg, this is the perfect opportunity to give back and help empower unemployed people. "By helping local people who couldn't access these services on their own, this 'pays it forward' towards paving the way to jobs and economic potential. We're excited to be launching this project and hope it will become an annual event to impact each city our convention visits!"

The NRWA has partnered with the Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation based in Anne Arundel county to identify unemployed individuals who will work with professional resume writers to create effective marketing documents that will enhance their job search efforts. Final, completed resumes will be presented to clients during the National Resume Writer Association (The NRWA) Conference at a press conference to be held September 24, 2009 at 5-5:30pm at the conference hotel.

Special Note to Media: The NRWA will assist media representatives in developing human-interest stories by connecting them with selected Workforce Development Corporation clients prior to the scheduled press conference. This will provide the media additional background on how a new resume is anticipated to impact each unemployed worker.

The National Resume Writers' Association (NRWA) is the industry's leading not-for-profit, member-driven organization dedicated to promoting the highest standards of excellence in resume writing through certification, education, and mentoring programs.
