GreenData Manager-REACH Helps Companies Respond to OEM-Specific Compliance Requirements

GDM-REACH enables companies to respond to material composition requirements from OEMs like IBM, HP, Motorola and Sony.

GreenSoft Technology today released an important enhancement to GDM-REACH, allowing suppliers a cost- and time-effective way to ensure compliance with material composition declaration requirements from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). GDM-REACH is an application to manage and analyze green compliance data and documents, and generate compliance reports of due diligence.

Today many OEMs require that their suppliers provide detailed declarations of the material composition of their products. These requirements, such as IBM ES 46G3772, HP GSE-011, Motorola W-18 or SONY ss00259, are now available as rulesets within GDM-REACH. Applied to the material composition data of individual components and BOMs, these rulesets can help ensure compliance with OEM-specific declaration requirements. GDM-REACH will also take into consideration the substance limitations on specific applications or specific categories of components when validating against these requirements.

"This is a powerful tool for small- and medium-sized companies that supply sub-systems or board level modules to the big OEMs," said Larry Yen, president and CEO of GreenSoft. "Compliance requirements from OEMs are becoming complex and, like regulations coming from governments, they frequently change. Combined with our data services, we can provide an affordable compliance solution that works for the short- and long-term."

Other enhancements to GDM-REACH include:

  • Validate supplier-reported EU RoHS status against material composition data.
  • Failure Analysis function generates a list of non-compliant parts in a BOM with associated substances under violation.
  • EU RoHS continues to change. Quickly view components that have expired or will be expiring within 12 months.
  • Perform product compliance validation by considering 2nd source parts.

GreenData Manager-REACH Workgroup Edition and GreenData Manager-REACH Desktop Edition require Windows XP or Vista. GDM-REACH enables a user to import data through GreenSoft's proprietary PartData format, which contains all data fields, documents and material composition details in one package.
