Winston-Salem, NC (PRWEB) September 14, 2009 -- According to a recent Aberdeen Group study sponsored in part by SilkRoad technology, inc., the leading provider of talent management solutions, 43 percent of organizations anticipate their talent acquisition efforts will increase over the next six months. The study, "Talent Acquisition Strategies 2009: Cutting Through the Clutter and Proactively Managing Quality Candidates" provides insight in dealing with the influx of resumes coming in from the exceptionally large labor pool caused by the recession.
Aberdeen interviewed 426 human resources executives and talent managers for the study, and concluded that the best ways to build a talent pipeline are through both employee referrals and the use of an engaging and informative career portal.
The research shows that companies at top tier organizations ("Best-in-Class") increased their quality of candidates nearly 10 times more than the bottom tier ("Laggard"). Additionally, "Best-in-Class" companies were able to hire 90 percent of their top candidates, compared to only 27 percent of the "Laggard" companies.
The report found companies that received Aberdeen's "Best-in-Class" designation had several factors in common, including: 77 percent have a process in place to receive feedback from hiring managers on the hiring process; and 61 percent can filter applicants against competency profiles to determine organizational fit.
