Green Bay Decking Supports Pennsylvania Boy Scout, VFW Park Project With GeoDeck Composite Decking Donation

Almost a year after VFW created the five-acre pond and park, the partnership between Jack Grimm and his fellow Boy Scouts, the VFW and Green Bay Decking allows the VFW to finally realize the larger vision of a handicapped-accessible fishing pier which could accommodate able-bodied, disabled, and handicapped veterans equally. Representatives from Green Bay Decking and local GeoDeck contractors will be in attendance at a special pier-building and dedication event to take place at Stanley Snyder Wildlife Park on Saturday, September 19, 2009. Local media is invited to attend.

It is our honor to help Jack reach his goal of Eagle Scout and help the VFW build this fishing pier for the Springfield community.

Green Bay Decking, LLC, The Composite Solutions Company, has joined local Springfield, Pennsylvania individuals, clubs, and businesses to help support the construction of a handicapped-accessible fishing pier at Stanley Snyder Wildlife Park. Representatives from Green Bay Decking and local GeoDeck contractors will be in attendance at a special pier-building and dedication event to take place at Stanley Snyder Wildlife Park on Saturday, September 19, 2009.

The pier construction project is being led by 15-year-old Eagle Scout candidate Jack Grimm III and is the result of a unique collaboration between Boy Scouts of America Troop 571 and the Stanley Snyder Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7465. Almost a year after VFW created the five-acre pond and park, the partnership between Jack Grimm and his fellow Boy Scouts, the VFW and Green Bay Decking allows the VFW to finally realize the larger vision of a handicapped-accessible fishing pier which could accommodate able-bodied, disabled, and handicapped veterans equally.

Installation of approximately 400 square feet of GeoDeck decking boards and final pier construction will begin at 8 a.m. ET on September 19, 2009, at Stanley Snyder Wildlife Park in Springfield, Pennsylvania. The pier dedication ceremony is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET. Local media is invited to attend.
