Salon Success Academy Facebook Contest Offers Students a Chance to Get Creative and Connect

Salon Success Academies of California is offering students a chance to compete for prizes through a "Hollywood Hair" photo contest. Photos will be judged and submitted through Facebook in an effort to build a stronger online community for the school.

Upland, CA (PRWEB) September 13, 2009 -- Salon Success Academies, a group of beauty schools in California, is holding a contest for current students who are fans of the school on Facebook. The contest, "Hollywood Hair", is an opportunity for students to design creative hairstyles around a Hollywood theme.

The contest will help to build a larger community of Salon Success Academies students on Facebook. Facebook provides a great opportunity for students of the school to interact with each other, prospective students, and graduates. Part of the philosophy of Salon Success Academies is to make each student feel as though they are part of a family, and Facebook is quickly becoming an extension of that support network.

Robert Gross, owner of Salon Success Academies, says that the contest "Will get students excited about using their new skills - they love working on competitions. And using Facebook to promote the contest will give students even more reason to visit the site and see what great things we are offering."

Students will be given specific class time to work on hair designs. Entries should be creative interpretations of "Hollywood Hair". They can choose to imitate movie stars or characters, or run wild with a different interpretation. Salon Success Academy wants to give students an opportunity to express their creativity, and a chance to showcase that creativity online.

Entries for the competition will be photographed and placed on the Facebook page for judging. One grand prize winner will be chosen based on criteria determined by the school. A second prize will be awarded for a People's Choice winner, voted on by other Facebook fans.

Salon Success Academy operates five schools in the Inland Empire area of California with programs in cosmetology and esthetics. The contest will be handled by Effective Student Marketing, a marketing company located in Andover, MA.
