Past News Releases

Rough Trade Retail Group, operators of two iconic Rough Trade music stores in London (Rough Trade East and Rough Trade West) are to add their much-loved brand of music retail to the Topman London Oxford Circus Flagship store as part of Topman's new store expansion on 17 September 2009.

As a world first, Rough Trade Retail Group will operate a concession outside of their independent stores giving Topman customers the opportunity to discover and purchase the most exciting new music releases.

"This is an exciting opportunity to introduce our music retail expertise and vision into one of the busiest store environments in the world. Our new Topman location will provide the same experience we provide customers in our own stores, which is an authoritative and informative edit of new releases, rewarding shoppers with music discovery on every visit", explains Stephen Godfroy, Rough Trade Director.

"It's fantastic that Rough Trade is on board to be part of this exciting and significant expansion for Topman as a brand. Music has quickly become the lifeblood of Topman and over recent years we have strived to support unsigned and new music talent and we now own our own music platform, Topman CTRL It makes absolute sense to be able to offer our customers the best of what's out there music wise. Rough Trade is a very credible voice within music retail, a real authority. We are very excited to have them on board," comments David Shepherd, Managing Director of Topman.

Further details on the Topman expansion will be released by the Topman Press office.
