Two students are hoping to set the hierarchy of the most important brands of Europe by starting an ingenious “geography-based marketing game”.
Razvan (22) and Cosmin (23) Zamfir are two brothers, from Romania; passionate about marketing and business, they set up http://www.EuropeanTycoons.com. The idea came out after a midnight session of brainstorming.
The brothers say that the concept is very simple – EuropeanTycoons.com is going to put together the most important companies/brands of Europe. One country=one brand; each new brand will be the representative image for that specific country (the Tycoon); it will remain that way until another brand comes and makes a higher offer (but no sooner than 5 days).
The logo of the brand that “wins” the country appears inside the borders (or designated space) of that country.
Even though the site has been online only for a couple of days, Cosmin (who takes care of the “new Tycoons”) claims that gigantic European brands have already started to show their interest for some countries.
He also believes that the competition of the Tycoons and the possibility of them changing will get the attention of hundreds of thousands of visitors. (“we are talking about targeted visitors because everybody will check the Tycoon of their own country.”)
Asked how far are they willing to go with the idea, they said: “Until every last one of the European countries, is represented by its most powerful brand.”
They also specified that the registering of “Tycoons” starts from the 20 € (for every country).
