This has been a great project that will continue to impact lives in the days ahead.

"Buc Radio" is on the air from Charleston Southern University (CSU), an institution widely known for adoption of cutting-edge technology to enhance the educational experience for its students.
The new 24-hour internet station has launched at http://www.csuniv.edu/radio with a combination of music, CSU news, and information about campus activities.
The University sees the service as a means to further its Mission of promoting academic excellence in a Christian environment, and its Vision to be a Christian university nationally recognized for integrating faith in learning, leading and serving.
CSU turned to Charleston-based American Media Services Interactive (AMSi) to develop "Buc Radio" to provide both Christian and secular music for students and alumni to enjoy.
Dr. Rick Brewer, Vice-President for Student Affairs and Athletics, said: "Buc Radio is expanding the possibilities for creating a greater sense of 'community" among constituents of the university. The variety of musical selections available is tremendous! I'm excited about the various 'live' programs we're creating that will enhance CSU's ministries and campus life."
Rusty Bruns, Chief Information Officer, added that "AMSi presented Charleston Southern University with an opportunity to step outside the box and deliver a new unique media vehicle for our faculty, staff and students. Working with AMSI is a pleasure and their patience, expertise and customer service is outstanding. They delivered what was promised. Our university family now enjoys streaming music that does not impact our bandwidth and is in keeping with CSU's values."
Jim Richard, MBA, is Director of Sales at AMSi and is project coordinator. "CSU's forward-thinking planning and willingness to leverage new technology is indicative of the technological shift to the internet in general, and to web radio in particular, with its boundless opportunities," he said. "This has been a great project that will continue to impact lives in the days ahead."
Accessed through the Charleston Southern web site, the online music player allows users to choose music genres including Contemporary Christian, Praise and Worship, Christian Hits, Faith Rap, as well as secular genres such as Classical, Oldies, and Country. Future additions to Buc radio will include a live channel to broadcast student and CSU programs and events.
