Mallfinder Network debuts its social networking website, Shoptopia, at three Colorado shopping centers: Southlands in Aurora on September 18, The Orchard Town Center in Westminster on September 19, and The Shops at Northfield Stapleton on September 20. This trio of events mark the first Shoptopia launches in Colorado for the Denver-based company. Shoptopia is a national social shopping networking website designed to connect shoppers of these centers with others who share their passion for shopping, as well as retailers and other community groups.

Shoptopia bridges the gap between online and traditional retail shopping, allowing members to enjoy the benefits of online shopping while reconnecting them with the enjoyment of an in-store shopping experience. Shoptopia members share insights, product reviews and their passion for shopping across a community of fellow shoppers, while receiving special discounts and incentives that can be redeemed at the retailers of their local shopping center.

We can communicate with our shoppers in real time about all the different activities and sales promotion that are meaningful to them happening at the center,” said Joyce Rocha-Brown, marketing director for Southlands.
In celebration of Shoptopia’s launch, each center plans to give a free $10 gift card, while supplies last, to the first 200 Shoptopia members who bring their printed Shoptopia profile page to the Management Office at Southlands on Friday September 18, or Guest Services at The Orchard Town Center on Saturday September 19 and at The Shops at Northfield Stapleton on Sunday, September 20. All members will be entered into individual drawings for a $250 shopping spree at each center, just for signing up for a free membership now through October 18, 2009. In addition, Shoptopia will award special prize giveaways to shoppers throughout the day of their launch via a special text message mobile campaign.
Fashion events kick off the launches at all three centers over the weekend. On Friday, September 18 from 6 – 8pm, Southlands hosts The Style-icious Celebration, a fashion runway show featuring Southlands retailers. There will be special entertainment, giveaways and fabulous style tips from the pros. Fashion goes green at Southlands with their Fashion Recycling event by Goodwill Industries. Shoppers can bring their outdated wardrobe and recycle it for a good cause.
Shoptopia’s Style Editor James Campbell will showcase the latest fashions trends for fall at the Shoptopia on the Runway Fashion Show featuring retailers from The Orchard Town Center and The Shops at Northfield Stapleton. The shows take place at The Orchard Town Center on Saturday, September 19 at 1pm and The Shops at Northfield Stapleton on Sunday, September 20 at 1pm. Both fashion shows will feature local area shoppers as models.
Joining Shoptopia is easy and free. Users sign up to create a profile and personalize their shopping preferences. They collect and organize favorite products with Shoptopia Lists, seek the opinions of like-minded shoppers and share a shopping experience with family and friends in the Talk section. Shoppers converse across all major retail categories including, Women’s Fashion, Men’s Fashion, Kids, Gadgets, Health & Beauty, and Eco-Green.
