Sarasota Convention and Visitors Bureau Announces 2009/2010 Board of Directors

The Sarasota Convention and Visitors Bureau ("SCVB") announces the members of the Board of Directors for the 2009/2010 Fiscal Year.

The Executive committee of the Board of Directors is comprised of the following individuals: Chair, Richard Bradshaw - Owner of The Comfort Inn and Days Inn, both on I-75; Immediate Past Chair, Dave Pierce, Business Development Manager of The Venice Chamber of Commerce; Vice Chair, Mark Becker - General Manager of Hyatt Regency Sarasota; and Secretary/Treasurer, Susan Danis - Executive Director of The Sarasota Opera.

Returning general members of the SCVB Board are: Trent Young, Owner of Captain's Landing; Jay Schrock, Ph.D, Professor, USF School of Hotel & Restaurant Management; Dan Schefer, Operating Partner of Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar; Larry Fineberg, Vice President of Leasing for Benderson Development; Leslie Power, General Manager of Hotel Indigo and Kumar Mahadevan, Ph.D., President and CEO of Mote Marine Laboratory.. Brand new to serving on the SCVB board are E. Paige Hartman, Owner of Siesta Key Suites; Christina Pfahler, Board Chair of Sarasota Ballet, and David Mason, CFO of Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice.

The Sarasota Convention & Visitors Bureau is the sales and marketing organization contracted by the Sarasota County Tourist Development Council (TDC) to champion the growth of business and leisure tourism in Sarasota County (http://www.sarasotafl.org).
