Old Town Alexandria, VA (PRWEB) September 17, 2009
The Duke Townhomes & Flats, the only brand new neighborhood of luxury townhomes and condos for sale in Old Town Alexandria's prestigious Historic District, announces Model Sneak Preview Tours starting this weekend with the public Model Opening on October 31.
"Prospective homebuyers have been telling us all along that they can't wait to actually walk our finished homes. The time is now and we couldn't be more excited," said Laurie Shultz, Director of Sales and Marketing for Marquis Homes. "We're offering Model Sneak Preview Tours to give people the best opportunity to get the home of their choice before we open our models to the public."
Model Sneak Preview Tours are being offered at The Duke starting the weekend of September 19-20 between the hours of 11am and 6pm. The tours start at the Sales Center, located at 118 N. Fayette Street, and continue on site at The Duke, located along the 1300 block of Duke Street.
The Duke's public Model Opening is scheduled for Saturday October 31ST from 10 am to 5pm. Everyone is invited to stop by the neighborhood, tour the models, enjoy light refreshments, and register to win a fabulous "Taste of Old Town" gift package.
The Duke Townhomes & Flats is bringing a whole new sense of elegance and excitement to this section of Old Town. It is the newest upscale community by Marquis Homes, a member of the Van Metre Family of Companies and a homebuilder with a proud history in Old Town Alexandria. Beau Van Metre, President of Marquis Homes, actually grew up in Old Town and Van Metre's very first office was located at 1200 Prince Street.
"Old Town definitely has a special place in my heart," said Beau Van Metre. "We're proud to be creating a new neighborhood that will be among Old Town's finest and we're looking forward to opening our models on the weekend of October 31. We invite our prospective homeowners, and all of our neighbors in Old Town to stop by, enjoy some refreshments, and get to know The Duke."
The Duke is designed around a landscaped courtyard with brick walkways and green spaces connecting the townhomes and condominiums, creating the sense of a single, distinct neighborhood within the larger community of Old Town.
Fronting homes that were built in the mid 1800's, The Duke is true to the Historic District's architectural aesthetic. All brick exteriors boast large dormers and staggered facades and rooflines, while period-style detailing is incorporated inside and out.
The Townhomes, ranging in size from 2,000 sq. ft. to 2,300 sq. ft., feature three levels of finished living space, open floorplans, private balconies, fireplaces, gated rear courtyards, lavish owner's suites, and high-style finishes throughout.
The Flats are extremely large by today's standard for a new condo. They range in size from 1,311 sq. ft. to 1,571 sq. ft. and include up to two bedrooms, two full baths, a den and a sunroom, as well as open kitchens, entertaining spaces and large walk-in closets. In addition to offering more living space than most new condominiums, they also boast concrete construction, which is unique for a four-level condominium. Each level is separated by a thick concrete slab lined with sound-deadening materials. As a result, The Flats will live quieter and be far more durable than stick-built condominiums.
The Duke offers another convenience that is rare in Old Town's Historic District--easy parking. Every home at The Duke includes two parking spaces, plus additional storage, in a private-access underground garage.
The Duke is located within easy walking distance of Old Town's signature amenities, including Metro, the Potomac River, parks, Market Square, Whole Foods, and over 17 blocks of shops, boutiques, galleries and restaurants. In addition, the Beltway and Wilson Bridge are literally right around the corner and Reagan National Airport is less than 5 miles away.
