Respected Outdoorsman Teaches Others How to Survive the Wild with a Smile

SurvivingTheOutdoors.com is a fresh new website that tackles surviving in the wild with an experienced outdoorsman. Website founder Steve Gatz has been a well renowned adventurer for more than forty years, and now seeks to provide others with innovative survival equipment and share his expertise through a new blog.

Having partaken in trail running, backpacking, hiking, caving and rafting in locations all over the world, Gatz is no less than an expert on outdoor survival.

"When it comes to the outdoors, there's not much I haven't done," said Gatz. "I've ventured up some of the tallest mountains in the world and traveled miles beneath the surface, and of course, came out smiling."

I also want to emphasize that preparation is key, because nature throws a lot of curveballs, and it's essential to be ready.

"The first step is mental preparation, because foremost it's important to be prepared and know the potential dangers of the outdoors," said Gatz. "The second step is learning the skills to be safe, and that tends to go hand in hand with the first step.

The third step is the most important, and that is having the right equipment, which is one of the main reasons I created a website," Gatz added.

On his website, both experienced outdoorsmen and those with a casual interest in the outdoors will find the equipment needed for survival and fun. "Of course survival is the focus of the website, but the goal is survival with a smile, because what's the point of adventuring if it's not fun?"

Gatz has been teaching outdoor survival education classes for more than 20 years, and in addition, is the owner of Incredible Creature Programs, which puts on seminars that introduce exotic animals to students and adults. From these experiences, Gatz has learned much about the wilderness and wildlife, which he plans to share on his new blog at www.SurvivingTheOutdoorsBlog.com.
