Massachusetts Based College Launches Web Site to Promote New Suite of Online Programs to Meet Needs of Future Leaders within Public Agencies

This initiative underscores our mission and commitment to delivering exceptional education, while allowing more students an opportunity to obtain their degrees from Anna Maria College.

Anna Maria College has launched, a new Web Site to promote a suite of online degree programs that they will begin offering in early 2010.

Recognizing that public agencies including Fire, Emergency Management, and Police departments have raised the bar for education, Anna Maria College has chosen to offer targeted online degree programs to address this need. As competition for leadership positions within these organizations intensifies, degrees from respected institutions will be one way professionals can set themselves apart and win promotions.

The online format offers professionals the convenience of learning whenever and wherever they choose, which is critical for those pursuing careers in public safety. Anna Maria College will offer several of their existing degree programs in a fully online format, pending approval by NEASC, the regional accrediting agency, with the following programs launching in early 2010:

  •     Bachelor of Science in Fire Science is taught by Fire Service Professionals and designed to develop the professionalism and knowledge needed to be successful in today's fire and emergency organizations.
  •     Master of Arts in Fire Science helps prepare fire service professionals for advancement to the upper ranks of a private or municipal fire service organization and for positions in state or federal fire service organizations.
  •     Master of Science in Emergency Management provides the managerial, communication, and analytical skills required for handling emergency situations in both the public and private sectors. The programs are designed for those interested in entering or advancing in the field of emergency management.
  •     Masters in Public Administration (MPA) is designed to train leaders in the management of non-profit and government agencies.
  •     Master of Science in Justice Administration is designed to meet the needs of justice professionals who seek the skills and tools necessary to provide leadership and make better decisions in an increasingly complex field.

"We are very excited about bringing these outstanding, existing degree programs online," said Jack P. Calareso, Ph.D, President of AMC. "This initiative underscores our mission and commitment to delivering exceptional education, while allowing more students an opportunity to obtain their degrees from Anna Maria College."
