you have to have a relationship-building mindset and reach out to people as individuals. The boot camp made us see we have to expand our processes outside of our comfort zones. Caroline and Kevin were excellent teachers.

HR Recruiters at HCA North Texas are now leveraging social networks such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to reach talented healthcare professionals. They're among the many organizations that have recently learned how quickly and easily they can connect with candidates in this medium through NAS Interactive's new Social Networking Boot Camps.
A division of NAS Recruitment, NAS Interactive began offering its Social Networking Boot Camp to help client organizations incorporate social networks into sourcing strategies, and how to use them efficiently. Since the Boot Camp's introduction, many organizations have taken advantage of the program via on-site presentation and webinar.
On-site at HCA's headquarters in Coppell, Texas, Interactive Marketing Strategist Caroline Slomski and National Internet Strategist Kevin Hawkins conducted hands-on demos of tools and techniques with recruiters from ten of HCA North Texas Division's facilities.
Mary Prascher, Recruitment Consultant for HCA North Texas Division, said, "Everyone took away a better understanding of social networking from the standpoint of the candidate…in a media that the candidate wants. People are more actively engaged in social media, particularly LinkedIn."
"In addition to actively recruiting," she continued, "you have to have a relationship-building mindset and reach out to people as individuals. The boot camp made us see we have to expand our processes outside of our comfort zones. Caroline and Kevin were excellent teachers."
"This was a very full day, packed with information," said NAS' Slomski, "but the feedback we got at the end was so positive. Recruiters who had been completely unfamiliar with social networking said they now felt comfortable navigating the various environments. The seasoned recruiters said they enjoyed learning new tips and tricks."
Kristine Rhodes, NAS Talent Strategist from the Dallas office, emphasized the importance of embracing this significant trend in recruiting. "Today, a social media plan is a given," Rhodes said. "Understanding how it all works gives recruiters the power to increase lead generation, build deeper candidate relationships, and strengthen their organization's employment brand reputation."
