Harry Potter: The Exhibition, has extended its hours in its final weeks at the Museum of Science and Industry, in response to recent sold-out weekends. The exhibition--which made its world premiere at the Museum in April 2009--will close on September 27, 2009. Beginning Friday, September 18, the Museum will offer extended exhibit hours until midnight on both Friday and Saturday nights though the exhibition's closing date, September 27.

Harry Potter: The Exhibition offers fans a firsthand look inside the wizard's magical world and the opportunity to experience the amazing craftsmanship of more than 200 authentic costumes and props from all six of the Harry Potter films. As guests journey through the 10,000-square-foot exhibit space, they are transported to the world of Harry Potter through several themed vignettes based on the film sets, including the Gryffindor™ common room, Hagrid's hut, the Forbidden Forest, a Dark Forces area and the Great Hall. Potter fans will come face-to-face with iconic items from the films including costumes from notable characters such as Harry, Ron, Hermione and Professor Dumbledore™; life-size centaurs; Buckbeak the Hippogriff; and a giant Acromantula spider. In addition, guests have the opportunity to pull a Mandrake from its pot in the Herbology vignette, toss a Quaffle in the Quidditch area, and tour Hagrid's hut.
Harry Potter: The Exhibition was created by Exhibitgroup/Giltspur in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products. After its run at the Museum of Science and Industry, the exhibition will be displayed at the Museum of Science in Boston, Massachusetts. The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago is the exhibition's only Midwest location.
Hours and Ticket Information
This exhibition offers extended hours and beginning Friday, September 18, it will be open 9:30 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, and 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. After the Museum's regular hours, only the Harry Potter exhibition will be open. (The Museum regularly closes at 4 p.m.). Combination admission into the Museum and Harry Potter: The Exhibition during the day is $26 for adults; $25 for seniors; and $19 for children ages 3-11. After the Museum closes, tickets are $18 for adults and seniors and $15 for children ages 3-11.
