Mount Pleasant, PA (PRWEB) September 21, 2009
Mobile Concepts (http://www.MobileConcepts.com) by Scotty delivered to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh a mobile command trailer built for the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) to be used during the G-20 Summit September 24 and 25.
Mobile Concepts finished the last of five 35-foot-length command trailers for PEMA earlier this month and stored the state-of-the-art unit until it will be put into service for the first time at the G-20. PEMA loaned this trailer to the Allegheny County Emergency Services to be utilized by its State Technical Support Group.
Technicians working out of the trailer will provide 24-hour system hardware and network support for approximately 3,000 end users on the STARNet radio system involved in the G-20.
After the summit, this trailer will be used to respond to natural or man-made disasters, as well as dispersed to incidents across the state or other events which require a high level of security.
In addition, a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol tractor trailer, modified by Mobile Concepts earlier this summer, will be present to assist in securing the downtown area around the convention center. This 52-foot-length tractor trailer was repurposed to house processing work stations, a holding cell and satellite fingerprint identification capabilities among other state-of-the-art technologies.
G-20 supports growth and development worldwide and encourages open discussion among member nations in order to manage the global economy and financial system.
According to the official G-20 Safety website, the United States Secret Service in cooperation with its local, state and federal security, public safety and military partners, will play a critical operational role in securing the summit and resources will be deployed to maintain the necessary level of security.
