Our selection to this event provides us an opportunity to show business and government leaders the unique value FASTTAC delivers in dramatically reducing operating costs and projects risks
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) September 21, 2009
FASTTAC ®, an industry leader in delivering digital content including drawings and documents directly to subscriber PCs today announced that the company has been selected to participate in the Eds/Meds Technology Showcase. This exclusive event, held in Pittsburgh preceding the G-20 conference, is designed to give local technology companies the opportunity to communicate their unique business value to the world's leaders and media.
The Eds/Meds Technology Showcase is the first time the breakthrough technologies developed at Pittsburgh's major research institutions have ever assembled for display under one roof. "The research from Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is a rich source of commercialization opportunities for the start-up community in Pittsburgh," says Rich Lunak, President and CEO of Innovation Works, the region's most active investor in seed-stage technology companies and organizer of the Eds/Meds Technology Showcase. "The companies participating in the Technology Showcase represent some of the Pittsburgh region's most promising, high-growth companies of tomorrow - all tracing their roots to Pitt, CMU or UPMC."
At the Showcase, FASTTAC will be highlighting their impressive business savings including the ability to eliminate up to 80% of the paper drawings normally printed on a construction project and the related costs. The company will also describe its role in supporting the construction of LEED certified facilities and "green" initiatives. FASTTAC, based on research created at Carnegie Mellon, is a university spinout that aims to successfully improve the management needs of the A/E/C Industry and improve our environment.
FASTTAC offers an innovative easy-to-use drawing and document distribution, control and collaboration system designed to address the unique challenges posed by construction projects and facility management teams. FASTTAC focuses on the automated delivery of drawings and documents to end users that permits all project participants, regardless of IT training, to communicate and collaborate more efficiently. The FASTTAC system ensures that every team member always has a complete and up-to-date set of drawings and documents in their possession enabling personnel to do the right thing at the right time throughout the life of the project.
"Our selection to this event provides us an opportunity to show business and government leaders the unique value FASTTAC delivers in dramatically reducing operating costs and projects risks," said Ray Steeb CEO and President of FASTTAC and 30 year veteran of the A/E/C Industry. "Many of the issues that they wrestle with in terms of effectively communicating construction project information to drive bottom line savings for both IT skilled and non IT skilled workers, is easily addressed with FASTTAC."
At the Eds/Meds Technology Showcase FASTTAC will show how its customers can:
- Reduce the carbon footprint of the print and ship distribution method used on construction projects and printing costs by up to 80%
- Deliver construction documentation in a fast and easy manner to all staff - regardless of location or IT skill level.
- Help construction teams gain LEED certification through its innovative technology.
- Lower costs, eliminate material waste and reduce risk throughout the entire lifecycle of a facility, from conception and design, through bidding, construction and the many years of ongoing operations and maintenance.
Founded in 2005 by industry veteran Ray Steeb in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University, FASTTAC delivers a Software as a Service (SaaS)-based suite of products that enables A/E/C industry personnel to have fast and easy access to accurate project and facility information from the planning, design, bidding, and building phases of a facility through its ongoing operation and maintenance. FASTTAC's products are designed for construction managers, owners and project managers that want to reduce project costs and related risks while also improving productivity and profitability.
FASTTAC provides real time mark ups to everyone on the project team, creating a "virtual drawing and document set" that reduces mistakes from using outdated drawings and documents across the various phases of a construction lifecycle. Unlike simple server based file sharing systems, FASTTAC ensures that everyone on the project team is delivered the most current drawings and documents, and that they are placed in the proper domain context. FASTTAC software products are being used by contractors, building teams and facility managers on projects throughout the United States. FASTTAC can be found at http://www.fasttac.com.
