OldHouseWeb.com--offering ideas and advice for old house enthusiasts--has launched a contest for home improvement bloggers, especially those with an interest in old homes. Contestants will compete for $250 gift certificate from Lowes Home Improvement Center and the opportunity to become a paid contributing blogger on the OldHouseWeb.com blog.
"We're looking for unique, informative, and entertaining posts," OldHouseWeb.com Editor-in-Chief, Tina Broadhurst said. "Home renovations are part of the living history of a home; we feel it's important to provide our readers with the story as well as the how-to when it comes to home improvement projects."
Contestants are encouraged to visit the blog contest page (http://www.oldhouseweb.com/blog/Announcing-Old-House-Blogger-Contest) and submit a link to their home-related blog post (those who do not have a blog but wish to enter can submit their post via email). Five finalists will be selected by the OldHouseWeb.com editorial team and their posts will be published on the OldHouseWeb.com blog.
OldHouseWeb.com will accept post submissions through Nov 18. Finalists can expect to see their posts shortly after the submission deadline. The posts will be rated and commented on by the OldHouseWeb.com community. The post with the highest rating (subject to editorial review) will win $250 toward their next home improvement project with a non-expiring Lowe's gift certificate, and an opportunity to become a paid contributing blogger on the OldHouseWeb.com blog.
"The contest provides bloggers with a larger audience than they might currently have," Broadhurst said. "It also provides fresh, new content for current members of the OldHouseWeb community."
The OldHouseWeb.com editorial team encourages finalists to promote their posts across social media platforms. The editorial team will aid finalist in promoting their posts on Twitter (http://twitter.com/oldhouseweb/) and Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/OldHouseWeb).
