Scuba Diving Instructor Training in Full Swing in Montreal, Canada

Ten scuba divers from Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec start their PADI instructor development course in Montreal, QC, Canada.

Montreal, QC, Canada (PRWEB) September 22, 2009 -- Ten (10) scuba divers from Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec are starting their instructor development course at Total Diving in Montreal, QC, Canada.

The PADI instructor development course (IDC) at Total Diving is a 10 day program preparing you to be a safe and successful scuba diving instructor. These candidates have already reached significant achievements in scuba diving. They are all current divemasters with comprehensive diving experience.

At the end of the 10 day program, these dive instructor candidates must pass a 2 day dive instructor examination (IE). This scuba instructor exam will be conducted on October 31 and November 1st, 2009, in Montreal, by a PADI staff sent by PADI headquarters in California.

"It's the largest group of instructor candidates we've ever had in a Fall program in Montreal" said PADI Course Director Darcy Kieran who is the lead instructor trainer on the program. The team of instructor trainers is completed by 5 IDC Staff instructors contributing their own experience at one point during the program. An IDC Staff instructor is a scuba diving instructor who has received additional training to help train scuba diving instructors.

3 current scuba diving instructors are studying to become IDC Staff instructors during the program.
