Niagara Falls, Ontario (PRWEB) September 23, 2009
On September 17, 2009 the Niagara Falls Hard Rock Cafe was informed that with the assistance of an aggressive social media campaign (including YouTube) the Niagara Regional Police, Crime Stoppers and local radio station personalities were able to locate the stolen Lenny Kravitz autographed guitar.
In the early hours of August 23, 2009 the guitar valued at $20,000 was stolen from the world famous Rock n' Roll memorabilia restaurant. The 1967 Gibson Flying V guitar was signed by Kravitz and had been proudly displayed on the wall of the Hard Rock Niagara Falls since the opening of the restaurant.
Niagara Regional police along with Crime Stoppers, local radio personalities and the power of social media all combined to locate the culprit and find the guitar. On September 17, 2009 John Elder of London, Ontario was arrested and charged with one count of theft over $5,000.
The autographed Kravitz guitar was recovered at Elder's house and returned to the Hard Rock restaurant. The guitar that made sounds all around the world will be on display in a secure glass case in the Hard Rock's entrance.
