Comparative Biometric Testing Round 7 results detail usability and accuracy of leading-edge biometric systems

International Biometric Group (IBG) today announced that results from Comparative Biometric Testing Round 7 are available at http://www.biometricgroup.com/cbt.html.

Comparative Biometric Testing is the leading full-system performance testing program in the biometric industry. CBT evaluates the accuracy and usability of end-to-end biometric systems - including sensors, software, and algorithms - used in access control, border management, and consumer ID applications.

CBT complies with U.S. and international biometric performance testing standards. Systems integrators, government agencies, and high-tech firms use CBT results to make decisions on technology deployments, product development, and investments.

IBG tested a wide range of systems in CBT Round 7, including the following:

  • AGNITIO ASIS (voice identification)
  • Eye Controls SafeMatch (iris recognition)
  • IrisGuard IG-AD100100 (iris recognition)
  • TST Biometrics BiRD Series 3 (contactless fingerprint)

Systems generally excelled in terms of enrollment rates, transaction times, and accuracy, with certain systems delivering near-perfect accuracy and usability. Iris recognition systems demonstrate greatly improved ease of use, while voice identification and contactless fingerprint show considerable promise for challenging real-world applications.

IBG collected over 70,000 samples and performed over 50,000,000 comparisons in CBT Round 7.
