Chee Tan, Director of Business Development for Sunbelt Software

Sunbelt Software, a leading provider of Windows security software, today announced the appointment of Chee Tan to the newly created position of director of business development. In this role, Tan, who most recently served as vice president of worldwide channel sales and business development of Fortressware, will report directly to Sunbelt's VP of Business Development, Chad Loeven.

"Chee's background as a channel sales and business development leader and his extensive contributions to record revenue growth are exactly the type of expertise that we are looking to add to our management team," said Sunbelt VP, Business Development, Chad Loeven. "We are confident that Chee's leadership will contribute to expanding Sunbelt's channel and strategic partner growth."

As director of business development, Tan will leverage his more than 20 years of experience in networking, security, and Internet industries to oversee domestic and international business development opportunities as well as OEM sales.

Prior to Tan's work as vice president of worldwide channel sales and business development of Fortressware, he spent five years with Trend Micro where he led the sales and business development teams - achieving record revenue for OEMs, system integrators, and service providers. Tan has also held senior management positions with numerous enterprises expanding their worldwide sales and marketing efforts, as well as helping to establish new businesses and acquire funding. He was a key contributor to the success of ActivCard (now ActivIdentity), raising close to $310 million through IPO. Earlier in his career Tan was responsible for launching a business unit of Novell Consulting in both Asia Pacific and the U.S.

"With the number of malicious threats on the rise and the sophistication of hackers increasing, there has never been a more important time for effective and reliable anti-malware tools for enterprise security," said Chee Tan. "Sunbelt's strength is in its ability to provide robust defense against a variety of threats with minimal computing resources. As a result, Sunbelt is well positioned to take advantage of the need in the market for superior next-generation anti-malware solutions."
