Stockholm, Sweden (PRWEB) September 28, 2009
alaTest™, a provider of consumer product quality information, announced today the launch of its Australian site at (http://alatest.com.au/).
alaTest™ supports consumers in their buying decisions by providing product quality information in the form of summarized and structured reviews. The information is collected from over 1,200 professional sources (such as Goodgearguide, CNET Australia etc.) and presented on the alaTest™ sites and across a network of ecommerce partner sites reaching 300 million internet users.
The launch of the site is simultaneous with the start of the strategic partnership with the leading comparison shopping engine in Australia, Getprice (http://www.getprice.com.au/)
alaTest™ will provide Getpice with review content and Getprice will provide alaTest™ with pricing information.
CEO and founder Arie Struik says, "We are delighted to add Australia to our growing network of country sites and to announce our partnership with Getprice at the same time. Through the partnership we can provide more consumers with review information in Australia and take a step towards our ultimate goal: to be the premier source of product quality information globally, with our own sites but especially through our content partnerships with the leading ecommerce sites in the world."
Getprice CEO Chris Hitchen adds: "There is so much information available to us as consumers these days, anything that makes the buying process easier should be welcomed. Getprice already helps consumers make vital purchase decisions before they buy, but we realize it's not all about the price; consumers want to get expert tips on the most appropriate product for their particular set of needs, so with the addition of alaTest's aggregated expert reviews we are giving our users more information to help them make smart shopping decisions. Similarly, alaTest™ wanted to give users of their site the full picture, so opted to integrate Getprice's extensive pricing catalogue into their expert reviews so users not only know which product to buy, but also where to get the best deal.
With the launch of the Australian site, alaTest™ now has 17 country web sites with local review content in 18 languages.
alaTest™ (http://alatest.com) is an independent, online service that collects product reviews and pricing information to help consumers with their purchasing decisions. Available in 18 languages, the sites currently aggregate more than 5.8 million product reviews from 1,200 international review sources such as Consumer Reports, CNET, PC World, and Stiftung Warentest. The company also determines an overall product quality rating called the alaScore™.
alaTest™ is a 2008 recipient of the Red Herring Global 100 Award, and is backed by Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bertelsmann AG. alaTest™ is operated by International Consumer Services Sweden AB, located in Stockholm, Sweden with offices in New York, Berlin, and Wuhan, China.
