Burlington, NJ (PRWEB) September 25, 2009
Barton & Cooney, Central and Southern New Jersey's largest and most experienced printing, mailing and packaging operation, announced recently that Fred S. Gomberg, a longtime executive of Vertis Communications has been appointed Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing and will provide strategic direction for product innovations and corporate initiatives. Fred's immediate priority will be to promote B&C's vast variable printing capabilities and mailing and packaging services to create more opportunities and improved results for B&C's customers.
"My goal is to combine my printing and direct mail experience with my solution consultative selling approach to assist our customers and improve their campaigns," said Gomberg. His extensive experience in the industry makes Gomberg a perfect fit for Barton & Cooney.
Prior to Barton and Cooney, Gomberg was with Webcraft/Vertis Communications for 32 years. He was most recently the Sales VP at Vertis, located in the North Brunswick, New Jersey offices. He climbed the ranks at Webcraft/Vertis from a salesperson in New Jersey, then opening a sales office serving as the West Coast sales manager in Los Angeles, CA. Fred then returned to the east coast to develop the Webcraft Fragrance sampling business for Vertis. Fred worked intimately with national retail accounts and served as a product manager and sales VP.
Fred recently attended the South Jersey Business Expo for B&C, and was featured in an article by Chris Mondics, Staff Writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer. Many business owners said they were running harder simply to stay in place, as customers cut back or demand more for less. That was the view of Fred Gomberg, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Barton & Cooney L.L.C., a Burlington printing company. Promotional printing, which fell off as the downturn accelerated last year, is still down. But printing that clients need to stay in business, such as monthly financial statements, has remained fairly steady. Gomberg said large commercial clients were doing less of the advance work at their own offices and expected their printers to pick up the slack, possibly because they have less staff than before.
"We're getting less time to turn things around," he said.
Gomberg earned a BA and MBA from Rider University. He will be based out of B&C's headquarters' in Burlington, New Jersey.
