In spite of the continued fears about further layoffs and a weakened economy, ZoboTV, Charlotte's leader in affordable home theater systems, is betting that things are set to turn around soon and to prove it, they've just signed a new 3 year lease to take over a vacated storefront near Southpark Mall. This new location is part of ZoboTV's strategy to increase marketshare in the competitive home theater market as other companies have either cutback expansion efforts or shut their doors entirely as a result of the recession.

In spite of all the news saying consumer confidence remains weak and the Charlotte NC community is still concerned about potential job losses, local home theater design and installation company, ZoboTV, is betting that consumer confidence is strengthening and that things are turning around. On the heels of recent reports that the pace of job losses in the Charlotte NC market appears to be slowing down, ZoboTV just signed a new 3 year lease to open a second location at 3920 Sharon Road, Suite B160, near the Southpark Mall.

In spite of 85,000 Mecklenburg County residents having lost their jobs since the recession began in January 2008, ZoboTV's General Manager Scott Osborne is counting on recent news reports that the economy may finally be on the mend and that consumer confidence is returning.

In speaking about the new location, Osborne said, "We've certainly felt the hit like every other retailer and it's caused us to become very strategic with not only our expenses, but also in how we market and position our business. As we analyzed the opportunity, we really felt strongly about what a presence in the Southpark area could do for our business and we're very excited to be able to offer top quality whole home entertainment systems at very reasonable prices."

Citing a recent Elon University Poll showing that nearly 45% of Mecklenburg County residents believe the worst of the recession is over, Osborne says "this additional location in Southpark will give us a visible presence in an already highly trafficked area and we have every confidence that as people come to understand our ability to create affordable home theater solutions, we'll become a valuable addition to the range of stores already serving the South Charlotte area."

In addition, because the space was recently vacated by a company that offered similar services, Osborne expects that the construction won't take as long as one would normally expect when opening a new high-tech retail location. He says the plans right now project a grand opening date of November 6th, just in time for the upcoming Christmas shopping season.

So, while most retail businesses are still hunkering down, waiting for economic situation to turn around, ZoboTV is banking on a combination of their ability to provide high quality whole home entertainment systems and this additional Southpark location to help make the road to economic recovery as entertaining as possible.

ZoboTV, already known as Charlotte's leader in quality and affordable home theater solutions, also offers a host of whole home entertainment solutions, including simplified control solutions for "green" lighting and air conditioning systems. They also specialize in providing instant access anywhere in the house to the latest entertainment options such as iTunes, Netflix, Pandora, Rhapsody, Vudu, and other great ways to get the movies and music you want instantly in your home. With a storefront in Pineville at the Carolina Place Mall, soon to be near the Southpark Mall, and online at, ZoboTV is Charlotte NC's leader is affordable, hassle-free whole home entertainment systems.
