Bidding Still Open on Silent Auction for ACGG Education Foundation Matching Rifles - Deadline Is Dec. 1

Cody, WY (PRWEB) September 26, 2009 -- A silent auction featuring a pair of handcrafted Model 700 Short Actions in .222 cal. and .257 cal. will do more than bring a broad smile to the face of their new owner; the donation will also support gunsmithing talent as well as the distribution of educational information to the custom gunmaking community.

According to organizers, "Educational opportunities include grant-in-aid scholarships to gunsmithing students to attend the annual seminars and exhibition of members of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild, scholarships to gunsmithing students with an interest in custom work, and opportunities for current gunmakers to increase their knowledge and improve their skills."

The consecutively serial-numbered rifles (G6531421 and G6531422) were donated by Larry Potterfield, founder and CEO of MidwayUSA. Donors of various components included Fred DePoy of Douglas Barrels; Fred Wenig of Wenig Custom Gunstocks; Leupold, "America's optics authority," and veteran stockmaker John Maxson.

Deadline for the bidding process is Dec. 1, 2009. Donations to the American Custom Gunmakers Guild Education Foundation are tax-deductible. Background about the charitable organization can be found at www.ACGG.org/foundation.

The bidding process is open to persons age 21 or older who meet the Federal requirements for purchasing a firearm. All bids must include the following:

A. Amount of Bid
B. Complete Name
C. Complete Address
D. Phone Number
E. Any bid received that states $1.00 more than the highest bid will not be accepted.
4. All bids will be sent to: ACGG Education Foundation, c/o Bruce Farman Treasurer, 2563 NE Wm E. Sutton Road, Bremerton, WA 98311.

Bids will be opened Dec. 15. If two or more bids are identical, the winning bid with the earliest postmark will be selected.

The winner of the Model 700 Short Action Rifles will be notified by telephone on Dec. 15. If no contact can be made, a certified return receipt letter will be sent. If no response is received within 10 days, the next highest bidder will be notified.
