Language Solutions Inc., has developed and is currently offering a free self assessment tool for auditing of an organization's Global Communication processes. This Self-Assessment tool is for organizations that want to better understand and gain process efficiency with the management of their Global multilingual Communications.
The Global Communication Readiness Audit has both an evaluative and formative value. It is evaluative in that it provides a "snapshot" of where an organization currently stands in terms of its Global Communications performance and the management of those communications. It is formative in that it also points to specific areas in which the organization can strengthen its performance.
The audit provides several key questions in each Readiness area that you can answer by scoring these from 1 - 5. These questions are tied to goals that fall within a Balanced Scorecard perspective. In addition, the questions help to analyze an organizations Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. After scoring the organization, the user gets a visual snapshot of their performance within the too from an automatic calculation of their scores in an Audit Scorecard.
Melissa Wurst, President of Language Solutions Inc., a leading expert in Translation Management revealed, "It's time we provide organizations with more than papers on Best Practices or research on certain technology solutions to help them. We developed a Balanced Scorecard for the Localization Industry for the benefit of clients who are outsourcing their Global Communications or managing it in house. You'd be surprised to know that size of an organization doesn't matter here…"
"Too many companies focus on the lagging measures such as profit, ROI, etc. When you determine the lagging measures, there is nothing you can do about them. Common sense would tell us we need to go back and examine our historical markers as to how we got there….. Language Solutions Inc. has documented a methodology that has identified each company's leading indicators - those upstream indicators that will predict and forecast what will happen with companies using multilingual communications. LSI dedicated an enormous amount of time with a passion toward the education of organizations on this path and the data behind it all is astounding..........." "With LSI's Audit and reporting, our organization has defined objectives and metrics to guide and measure our globalization and localization business decisions." VP, Marketing of Consumer Product marketed in 22 countries
As organizations grow global and produce more communications in other languages, whether for their employees or for the consumer, they enter the path on the GCMM and they all go through 7 defined stages on this path. There is very little mentorship in our industry for clients to understand how their own work processes affect quality, cost, process and customer satisfaction and we want to focus on that segment of clients to help them understand this and manage their communications better.
Most organizations do not have the time and internal resources to focus on process management and improvement on their own. They jump into global communications and it can become a runaway train for them.
When organizations grow internationally, they typically fail to build a business case that justifies more support for their multilingual communications to accommodate an increased volume of content and/or the increased number of languages for that content.
LSI's Global Readiness Audit Scorecard provides organizations with a framework that is narrowed down to those vital objectives and measurements within 4 Readiness Categories. Using this tool, organizations can unlock the potential of using multilingual communications as a key strategy for overall international business success.
