In our efforts to seek partners who align with our goal of providing the world's best high-value monitors, we are very excited to partner with PureDepth
Redwood Shores, CA (PRWEB) September 29, 2009
PureDepth™ Inc. (OTC:PDEP), the creator of Multi-Layer Display (MLD™) technology and a leader in new visualization experiences, today announced it has entered into agreement terms with Kortek Corporation (052330: Korea Securities Dealers Assoc Quotation), a top manufacturer of high value digital displays. Under the terms, Kortek would become a Preferred Technology Partner of PureDepth, with the two companies working together to design, develop and manufacture MLD monitors for use in the gaming and public information display industries, and explore opportunities with smaller form factor displays.
Initially, the companies will focus on 15-inch MLD monitors for use in Pachinko games and 24-inch gaming monitors for the Japanese market. The companies will work together to secure hardware sales and technology licensing agreements for these products.
"We are very pleased to begin a partnership with Kortek," said PureDepth CEO Andy Wood. "Kortek's experience with the high-quality manufacturing of gaming monitors is extremely impressive and will help us bring increasingly powerful visualization experiences to market. By combining Kortek's superior displays with PureDepth's MLD technology, we will provide gamers with eye-popping effects unlike anything they've seen before."
With more than 20 years experience developing industrial monitors, Kortek has recently lead the way in manufacturing monitors for the gaming industry and is expanding its high standards of production into broader digital display markets such as digital information displays, medical monitors and specialty applications.
"In our efforts to seek partners who align with our goal of providing the world's best high-value monitors, we are very excited to partner with PureDepth," said Han Gu Lee, Kortek Chairman. "Our customers are always looking for something that will make their games stand out and we're confident that our production expertise and PureDepth's patented MLD technology will prove to be a very compelling combination."
MLD displays contain two or more layers of LCD panels placed in front of one another in a single monitor with patented technology used to remove interference. The result is visual content with Actual DepthTM--not perceived depth--so consumers can enjoy 3-D-like imagery without wearing special glasses.
PureDepth's MLD technology and associated platform software offer several benefits over conventional visual displays and conventional 3-D technology, including:
- Improves standard 2-D content with enhanced color and contrast;
- Introduces a new depth effect to content by utilizing the space between two LCD screens;
- Enables 3-D viewing with traditional stereoscopic effects, without negative side effects such as
headaches or eye fatigue;
- Offers a combination of 2-D, 3-D and MLD depth effects within one seamless application--the only display available to combine all three.
