Vancouver BC's Senga Landscape Architecture Wins 2009 Western Living Magazine Award

Senga Landscape Architecture, based in Vancouver BC Canada, has been selected by Western Living magazine as 2009 Landscape Designer of the Year.

North Vancouver, British Columbia (PRWEB) September 28, 2009 -- Senga Landscape Architecture, based in Vancouver BC Canada, has been selected by Western Living magazine as 2009 Landscape Designer of the Year.

"My motto has always been 'Nature is the Best Designer'. A site tells you what it wants to be and that sums up my approach to landscape architecture quite clearly" notes Senga Lindsay, owner of Senga Landscape Architecture. ""My designs favour low-maintenance and low-irrigation functionality in order to be both environmentally and owner friendly."

Noted Western Living landscape architecture judges Ron Rule and Jim Hole agree citing Senga Landscape Architecture's "sincere and consistent" devotion to environmental concerns as a major reason why the landscape firm won the magazine's 2009 Landscape Designer of the Year Award.

"The exposure provided by the Western Living award is so greatly appreciated. I want to utilize this exposure to expand my horizons into teaching and writing books on sustainable landscapes and eco-chic gardens, educate the public and develop that further. I am currently working with GardenWise developing an area on their website as an guest columnist and contributor to their magazine and website" adds Lindsay.

Lindsay's most challenging project has been the yard of her North Vancouver home, a post-and-beam by Thompson, Berwick and Pratt. Here she works plant colours (burgundy to gold to blue--Provence in miniature) against recurring materials to define "rooms" suited to the ecology, her entertaining habits and her chef husband's food gardens.

Lindsay opened her home for a public tour on Sunday September 13, 2009. She looks forward to showcasing her own property and details will be announced on her website available at www.sengadesigns.com.
