How to Paint A Room Like a Pro.
Traverse City, MI (PRWEB) September 30, 2009
Professional painter Dan Brady has turned the expertise he's acquired in over 20 years of work into a new HGTV style video called "How to Paint A Room Like a Pro." The interior house painting DVD is available through Brady's Web site at http://danbradypaintingtricks.com.
"The tip that gets the greatest response from people who have watched the video is the one on pulling tape," Brady says. "Many people are frustrated by trying to get a sharp edge using blue tape or old fashioned masking tape. One of the professional tricks we show in the video is what kind of tape to use that will get you that sharp edge."
The comprehensive video offers step by step instruction through 17 easy to navigate chapters:
- Choosing interior paint colors
- Choosing the right tools for the job - the DVD comes complete with a shopping list for supplies for doing your own paint job
- Preparing a room for painting
- Wall preparation -- tips on making minor repairs and also instructions on fixing large cracks and holes
- Priming repairs
- Caulking trim
- Preparing the trim for painting
- Taping the floor and taping the trim
- Rolling out the ceiling
- Cutting in the walls
- Rolling out the walls
- Doing an accent wall
- Interior design - putting the final touches on in your finished room
Brady decided to create the video as an outgrowth of his painting and wood restoration business. "People who want to do their own painting are usually interested in saving money. Using this video, do-it-yourselfers will learn how to paint a room themselves and get a professional looking job for much less than I could charge them.
"For example: for a professional painting contractor to do an average sized bedroom including the ceiling, walls, trim, and closet would cost between $800 and $1,200. Doing it yourself can save a minimum of $600 and as much as $1,000."
So why would someone who paints professionally want to give interior painting tips to people so they can do it themselves? "I realized there are no good videos out there for the do-it-yourselfer - whether that's someone who paints for themselves because they don't feel they can afford to hire professionals or someone who gets a great deal of pleasure and pride out of doing the job themselves. I thought this was a market need that I could help fill with good solid advice that will help any level of do-it-yourselfer get a great paint job."
The 17-chapter DVD costs $24.95 and is available online at http://danbradypaintingtricks.com.
