The US Military and the BOD POD Gold Standard Body Composition Tracking System

Life Measurement Inc. (LMI) continues its momentum in the military market, serving more than 37 US military installations as customers of the BOD POD Body Composition Tracking System.

Life Measurement Inc. (LMI) has been working with the US Military since 1997 when Brooks Air Force Base purchased a BOD POD Body Composition System to assess their military personnel. Today, LMI counts more than 37 US Military facilities as BOD POD customers.

As the Gold Standard technique for body composition and metabolic assessment, the US military uses the BOD POD to:

  • Evaluate and track the effectiveness of training and fitness programs
  • Maximize levels of strength and performance
  • Prevent injuries
  • Manage disease risk factors
  • Monitor body composition and metabolism changes over time

Being overweight or obese increases the risk for disease and health conditions such as; hypertension, osteoarthritis, type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, gallbladder disease, sleep apnea, and respiratory ailments. Forward thinking military organizations have determined that accurate body composition and metabolic assessment provides the most valuable feedback to achieve appropriate fitness levels.

BOD POD military customers include: 27 US Military bases, US Military Academy (West Point), US Air Force Academy, US Naval Academy, US Army War College, and the National Defense Academy. Additional BOD POD customers include: 14 NFL teams, all three Mayo Clinics, and the National Institutes of Health.
