Our new Fan Page will extend our community by bringing the iVillage experience to women on this very active platform and engaging them with our content. 'I'm Ready For My Close Up' is a great way to begin that dialogue.
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 29, 2009
To celebrate its new Facebook Fan Page, at http://www.facebook.com/ivillage, iVillage has launched a contest asking users to create a fantasy TV series about their life for the chance to win $1,000.
"Over 11 million iVillage users are on Facebook every day," said Michele Mitchell, Vice President of Audience Development, Research and Retention, iVillage. "Our new Fan Page will extend our community by bringing the iVillage experience to women on this very active platform and engaging them with our content. 'I'm Ready For My Close Up' is a great way to begin that dialogue."
Top news from the new iVillage Entertainment site is featured on the Fan Page's 'Entertainment' tab. Tabs will be added for each of iVillage's new vertical sites, which will roll out over the coming months in categories such as Food, Family, Health, Beauty & Style and Astrology. Each new tab will include exclusive, Fan Page-only content, fun interactive tools, and content customization functionality.
For a shot at winning $1,000, users need to become a fan of the official iVillage Facebook page. On the contest tab, they will share which actor they think should play them in a fictional TV series about their life. Next, they will give that fantasy series a name, and upload a picture of themselves looking like the actor they chose. A panel of iVillage judges will select a winning entry based on originality and creativity of the show's title as well as how much the photo looks like the actor chosen. The contest ends October 2, 2009.
This Summer, iVillage announced a series of online promotions celebrating women. The "I'm Ready For My Close Up" contest is the fifth in that series. For complete Official Rules, visit http://www.ivillage.com/readyformycloseupcontest.
