East Coast's Largest Security Event to be Held October 13-14, 2009 at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers

Our goal is to present the most compelling topics, timely information and dynamic speakers that forward the thinking in the information security sector

Today, the SC World Congress Conference and Expo announced additional featured speakers to the already packed agenda at this year's event, to be held in New York City on October 13-14, 2009. Already the East Coast's largest information security conference, today's additions of featured speakers from RSA and Cisco make the scale of the event even grander and make it a must-attend gathering for information security professionals.

Added to the agenda are keynote sessions by Art Coviello, President, RSA, The Security Division of EMC, and Joel McFarland, Senior Manager of Product Management, Cisco. Each of these presenters will provide a unique and insightful perspective on the current state of enterprise and network security.

  • The crumbling walls of network perimeters are forcing organizations to architect new network designs to address the evolution of borderless networks. In his session, McFarland will guide participants on an exploration into the "Cloud," revealing the power of choice in email security and discuss how to harness the benefits of the Cloud, while avoiding common pitfalls typical of early SaaS solutions. McFarland has been added to the agenda at 11:40 a.m., on Tuesday, October 13.
  • In his discussion on the "Hyper-Extended Enterprise," Coviello will address how companies are rushing to deploy new technologies such as cloud computing, virtualization, social networks, and mobilization to gain efficiencies. The result is a "hyper-extended enterprise" exchanging more information in more ways and with more constituencies than ever before. Coviello will outline the key components of a Secure Information Infrastructure and its benefits in managing risk and reaping the astounding benefits of the hyper-extended enterprise. Coviello will present at 8:30 a.m., on Wednesday, October 14.

"Our goal is to present the most compelling topics, timely information and dynamic speakers that forward the thinking in the information security sector," said Illena Armstrong, editor-in-chief, SC Magazine. "With the addition of these two keynotes, we continue to add to what is arguably the most prestigious line-up of speakers ever assembled for a security conference."

The SC World Congress has already attracted a roster of security luminaries from a wide variety of industries, sectors and areas of focus, including speakers from: AT&T, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Federal Trade Commission, Heartland Payment Systems, Intuit, Time Warner, Inc., United Parcel Service, United States Department of Justice, Verizon Communications, The World Bank and many others.

Registration for the conference is currently open. A full list of speakers, a conference agenda, media partners, sponsors and participant registration can be found at
