Midway Moving and Storage, the largest moving and storage company in Illinois, has signed a five-year endorsement agreement with Chicago Bulls' forward Tyrus Thomas. The agreement strengthens Midway's reputation as Chicago's hometown mover and represents the company's commitment to excellence.
"We are so excited that Tyrus Thomas has joined the Midway team," said Jerry Siegel, president and founder of Midway Moving and Storage. "Tyrus is a talented athlete who has been truly inspiring both on and off the court. He and Midway are both dedicated to excellence and to giving back to the community, and that makes him a great fit to represent the Midway brand."
Tyrus Thomas was traded to the Bulls in 2006 after being selected in the first round (fourth overall) by the Portland Trail Blazers that same year. He ranks #4 in the NBA in blocks and last season averaged 10.8 points per game. In playoffs ranks, he is #1 in the NBA in blocks. In 2007 Thomas formed the Tyrus Thomas Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk children in the Chicagoland area as well as his home state of Louisiana by funding educational and recreational programs. Thomas was named the Bulls Community Player of the Year this past April in recognition of his numerous philanthropic efforts. He was also nominated for the national Jefferson Award for Outstanding Public Service in August 2009.
