Jocelyn Hill of McCarter & English Appointed to American Bar Association Posts

McCarter & English is pleased to announce that Jocelyn Gabrynowicz Hill, an associate in the Philadelphia office, has been appointed to positions in two American Bar Association sections. For the coming association year, Hill will serve as the ABA Young Lawyers Division's liaison to the ABA Section of Environment, Energy and Resources (SEER). She has also been appointed a member of the Task Force on Outreach to Young Lawyers in the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (TIPS). She will serve in both posts for one year.

McCarter & English is pleased to announce that Jocelyn Gabrynowicz Hill, an associate in the Philadelphia office, has been appointed to positions in two American Bar Association sections. For the coming association year, Hill will serve as the ABA Young Lawyers Division's liaison to the ABA Section of Environment, Energy and Resources (SEER). She has also been appointed a member of the Task Force on Outreach to Young Lawyers in the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (TIPS). She will serve in both posts for one year.

Ms. Hill is a member of McCarter & English's Insurance Coverage Group. She is also a member of the firm's Climate Change and Renewable Energy and the Sustainability/Green Building Groups. Ms. Hill concentrates her practice on insurance recovery litigation exclusively on behalf of policyholders and has a wide variety of experience in coverage for environmental liabilities, climate change, construction, and asbestos-related claims, as well as claims under professional liability and fidelity policies.

In addition, Ms. Hill is a U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) - one of five at the firm - and is knowledgeable about Green Building requirements, practices and procedures.

As the first LEED AP in the Philadelphia office, she has distinguished herself as a leader in more ways than one and we congratulate her on all of these great achievements."

In her new position as the Young Lawyers Division liaison to SEER, Ms. Hill will help to coordinate section meetings and generate interest and participation of members in section activities and events. Ms. Hill is also charged with the responsibility of facilitating the development of a panel on green building for SEER's Annual Environmental Law Conference in March 2010. As a member of the TIPS Task Force, she will support the section in its efforts to recruit young lawyer members. Ms. Hill will also encourage the participation of young lawyers and help develop leadership opportunities for them in the section.

Prior to joining McCarter & English, Ms. Hill clerked for the Honorable Mark I. Bernstein in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Commerce Program. During law school Ms. Hill clerked for Justice J. Michael Eakin of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. She serves on the Philadelphia Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division Executive Committee and is a delegate to the Pennsylvania Bar Association House of Governors as well as a member of the Temple American Inn of Court.

In 2008, Ms. Hill was selected as a "Pennsylvania Lawyer on the Fast Track." She was also selected as one of the Philadelphia region's Top 101 Emerging Connectors in a survey conducted by Leadership Philadelphia. Ms. Hill received her J.D. from Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson School of Law, and her B.A. from Kenyon College.
