Smith has joined the company as Vice President of Sales. With 25 years of experience in enterprise software and technology markets including the life sciences, oil and gas, and chemical industries, Smith provides a successful track record of building and managing high-performing sales teams and implementing repeatable sales methodologies that consistently exceed revenue targets.

As Vice President of Sales, Smith will be responsible for ensuring that ClearTrial's worldwide sales and services organization meets the rapidly increasing market demand for the company's award-winning software, and for providing strategic insight into market expansion and the establishment of new markets. He will oversee the development of the enterprise sales and clinical services team and assist in driving the company's go-to-market strategy for the life sciences industry.

At Documentum (now EMC), Smith was instrumental in building and leading the pharmaceutical industry vertical. During his tenure, Documentum became the pharmaceutical industry leader by providing high-value business applications that accelerated key business processes, responsive relationships with customers, and valued partner relationships. His sales and pre-sales organization consistently exceeded goals and grew revenue over tenfold in just four years by focusing on operational execution that placed the customer's requirements first.

At Saba Software, Smith built an enterprise sales team and grew North American sales eightfold to over $50M in two years through collaborative efforts with Saba customers and partners. During his tenure, Saba established the beginning of the enterprise-wide human capital management software market. As vice president of enterprise sales at iManage (Interwoven), Smith drove sales of the company's industry-leading collaboration products to enterprise customers.
