Are You Watching the International Rome Film Festival? - LateRooms.com

Kicking off on October 15th, the International Rome Film Festival is one of the city's largest festivals and features an action-packed programme of screenings and exhibitions.

Mancheter, UK (PRWEB) October 5, 2009 -- Kicking off on October 15th, the International Rome Film Festival is one of the city's largest festivals and features an action-packed programme of screenings and exhibitions.

The festival base is the Auditorium Parco della Musica - which is within easy reach of most Rome hotels (http://www.laterooms.com/en/k13659368_rome-hotels.aspx) - although events will also be taking place at several other venues across the city, including the Via Veneto, Cinecitta and Piazza del Popolo.

Five different sections make up the festival, including Extra, which focuses on new trends, video games and documentaries, and Premiere, which is dedicated to international film releases and sees a host of film stars and directors tread the red carpet.

Highlights of this year's festival include a screening of Julia & Julia, starring Acadamy Award-winner Meryl Streep, which has been named as the official closing night film.

A retrospective on legendary Italian director Luigi Zampa will also be taking place in collaboration with the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia.

In addition, tribute will be paid to film-maker Sergio Leone through an exhibition curated by Gian Luca Farinelli, the director of the Bologna Cineteca.

Tickets for festival events and screenings go on sale on September 28th and can be purchased from the Auditorium Parco della Musica and at LIS-Lottomatica outlets.
