Los Angeles, CA – The bold new women’s fashion line Prodigal Daughter will partner with the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation (DSLRF) for a month long October fundraiser to benefit the foundation and its breast cancer initiative, the Love/Avon Army of Women. Prodigal Daughter creative director Joni Frazier has designed two pieces especially for DSLRF to be sold exclusively on the company’s Prodigal Cares “Shop for a Cause” page during Breast Cancer Awareness month. Proceeds from the sale of the gorgeous Pink Silk Tank and Pink Silk Scarf will directly support the DSLRF’s mission to eradicate breast cancer and to help recruit one million women to partner with scientists in the unprecedented Love/Avon Army of Women breast cancer research initiative.
“Being able to participate in an incredibly important effort like Dr. Love’s research and Army of Women is the basis by which we measure our success at Prodigal Daughter,” stated Joni Frazier, Prodigal Daughter’s Creative Director. “Giving back is an integral part of the lifestyle that we espouse and design for. Prodigal Cares is proud to support the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation.”
About the Love/Avon Army of Women
The goal of the Love/Avon Army of Women is to recruit one million women to directly participate in breast cancer research. The Love/Avon Army of Women is an initiative of the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation thanks to a generous grant from the Avon Foundation for Women. It was launched on October 1, 2008 to mark the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Over the years, millions of dollars have been raised that have advanced the treatment and early detection of breast cancer, but researchers still do not know what causes the disease. The Love/Avon Army of Women empowers women with a new opportunity --- to join together and serve as an army of research volunteers that will provide scientists with an unprecedented new resource so they may better understand the causes of the disease. It is a simple but revolutionary call for one million women of all ages and ethnicities to rise up and help end breast cancer once and for all.
