The Institute for Health Technology Transformation announced today the moderator and key topics for their Health Information Exchange (HIE) Panel, for this year's Fall Health IT Summit on November 4-5, 2009 in Beverly Hills.
The presentation entitled "HIE: Adoption, Roles, and Realities For Our Healthcare System," will lend invaluable insight on HIE strategies and realities. The panel will address which HIE services are critical to hospitals, providers, consumers, payers, public health, and government. In addition they will be discussing how services can sustain over the medium and long term.
The panel will also discuss how to ensure maximum participation of all stakeholders in the process of defining, developing, and using HIE services. They will also speak on how to ensure trust and support from all parties, and how to ensure that privacy and security are maintained and information stays secure.
Jonah Frohlich, Deputy Secretary of Health Information Technology, California Health and Human Service Agency has been selected to moderate this very timely panel. Jonah has a degree in economics from McGill University in Montreal, and a master's degree in public health from the University of California, Berkeley. He previously worked as a consultant to the California HealthCare Foundation as well as the manager of reporting and analysis for Brown and Toland Medical Group in San Francisco, and as the director of product management for WebOS, Inc. in Baltimore.
