Tickets for the 15th annual BB&T Classic presented by Boeing to be held on Sunday, December 6 at Verizon Center in Washington, DC will go on sale this Friday (October 2). The 2009 event will showcase long-time host universities, University of Maryland and George Washington University, 2009 Final Four participant Villanova University and the Naval Academy. The doubleheader benefits the Children's Charities Foundation (CCF).
The 2009 lineup of games begins at 5 p.m. when Maryland plays Villanova followed by George Washington vs. Navy. The Maryland vs. Villanova game will also be featured as Fox Sports Network and will air on most Fox owned and affiliated networks as well, as locally on the Mid Atlantic Sports Network (MASN). MASN is the official cable network of the BB&T Classic.

The Classic continues to be the major source of fundraising for The Children's Charities Foundation (CCF). Founded in 1994 by a group of Washington-area business and professional leaders, the CCF has distributed nearly $7.5 million to charities in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, including the District of Columbia; Montgomery and Prince George's Counties in Maryland; Fairfax and Arlington Counties in Virginia; and the City of Alexandria, Virginia.
The BB&T Classic weekend also includes "The BasketBall," a black-tie event attended by representatives of the Classic teams and their coaches, top sports figures, business, community and national political leaders.
