Next Day Blinds recently honored with Better Business Bureau Award.

Better Business Bureau recently honored Next Day Blinds, a Jessup, MD business with 35 showrooms throughout MD, DC and VA with a 2009 BBB Greater Maryland Torch Award for Marketplace Excellence. The Torch Award pays tribute to businesses that exhibit extraordinarily high standards of honesty and integrity toward customers, employees, shareholders and their community.

"Next Day Blinds takes its cues from its clientele and as a result has earned an A+ rating for customer satisfaction," said Angie Barnett, president & CEO, BBB | Greater Maryland. "At a time when trust is so fragile, the Torch Awards pays homage to a handful of Greater Maryland businesses that have not just talked the talk, but walked the walk on tough business decisions. Those are just the decisions that earn them the respect of their employees, vendors and customers," added Barnett.

Next Day Blinds was selected to receive the award by a panel of judges including past BBB | Greater MD Torch Award winners and other BBB Accredited Businesses. Steve Freishtat, the company's president and founder, accepted the award at a reception sponsored by BBB's Educational Foundation before a gathering of 200 Maryland business executives.

Upon accepting the award, Freishtat referenced author Jim Collins, saying "One of the most important things in business is getting the right people on the bus", recognizing the award is an achievement of Next Day Blinds' employees.

BBB's Educational Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit charitable organization whose mission is to enhance consumer confidence through education and information. BBB with help from its Educational Foundation issues Reliability Reports on businesses in the Greater MD service area online at and publishes a free consumer e-newsletter,Consumer Club (, with alerts on scams and tips. The charity is funded through tax-deductible consumer and business donations.
