Approaching its 25th anniversary, AST's move to enhance its leadership in business development enables the staffing agency software firm to deliver its unique fusion of business process and technology to a larger number of staffing companies seeking profitable growth in a business climate of narrower margins.

Applied Systems Technology (AST), a leader in providing enterprise applications for the staffing industry has appointed Christina Grenga as Vice President of Business Development. The announcement was made by AST's Chairman and CEO, David Reiss.

Grenga will be forging strategic relationships with industry leaders and helping staffing firms take a fresh and hard look at their business models as the industry emerges from the recent economic crisis. "While staffing operators have been embracing technology to enhance the operations of their businesses, there are still huge opportunities for significant gains in efficiencies and productivity, especially in the higher transactional sectors in commercial staffing, industrial and clerical. We have the tools and process expertise to help these organizations in a unique way, and will be looking to Christina to build a team that can bring these solutions to both our clients and the industry," Reiss said.

Reiss continued, "For the last eight years, we have invested heavily in both staffing software development and in bringing together a strong team of highly knowledgeable process consultants who understand how to apply CRM and Enterprise (ERP) applications to commercial staffing firms. When business is good, most staffing operators are not trying to squeeze every nickel out of their operations through efficiency and process design. Based on market conditions, we believe that staffing operators are extremely receptive to new tools and ideas that increase efficiencies and profitability, and Christina's the perfect person to begin having these difference-making conversations with staffing industry leaders."

Doug Newman, President of AST, will focus primarily on the application and development of AST's staffing software products and services to the industry, while Grenga concentrates on 'go to market' tactics and strategies. "Grenga' s belief that the entire sales process has to be built around solving relevant business problems, aligns well with AST's outcomes approach to automation and should enhance our ability to deliver material value to our clients," Newman stated.

Christina Grenga began her career as an account executive for a national staffing firm, and ultimately migrated to financial services and worked as a regional sales manager for JP Morgan Chase. As one of the top national sales performers at Chase, Grenga was a nine time Leaders Club recipient enjoying the status of being the #1 producing sales manager with the #1 producing sales team regionally. Her team was ranked 3rd nationally
