Carson City, NV (PRWEB) October 5, 2009
Cheetah Learning (http://www.cheetahlearning.com) announced the recipients who will receive project management scholarships this quarter through the Project Management Institute (PMI®) Educational Foundation (http://www.pmief.org). The recipients are both individuals and non-profit organizations.
The individuals receiving the scholarships are Rahman Alidu Musah, a teacher in Agona Swedru, Ghana, who will use the training to improve the project management of interns who come to his school; and Torrance Walley, a fourth-grade teacher in Washingtonville, NY, who will use the training to become more effective in developing new curriculum. The non-profit groups receiving the scholarship training are: Hope International University, Western PA Humane Society, Global Nutrition Alliance, Inc., Urban Health Plan, Inc., 3E Institute and Catholic Agency for Overseas Development. Each of these non-profits is looking to better manage their resources and become more effective in meeting their goals and fulfilling their missions.
This scholarship program helps non-profits and non-governmental organizations learn the fundamentals of project management through Cheetah Learning's PM Fundamentals online certificate program. There is no cost to non-profit and non-governmental organizations to take this online training program, valued at $3,250 per class. The program also includes preparation for, and the taking of, the PMI® Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) professional credential examination.
"We're proud to contribute to the professional development of these individuals and non-profits," said Michelle LaBrosse, Founder, Chief Cheetah, Cheetah Learning. "We believe in the power of Project Management to create positive change in our world. Becoming more effective is contagious and empowering for people and organizations of all sizes."
There are a limited number of training scholarships available each quarter. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis to those organizations that meet the criteria and agree to complete the program. Each participant within the organization who has been awarded a scholarship must have access to a computer, the Internet, and be given the time needed out of their work schedule to complete the program.
