AMIN Restores Power in New York

Worlwide advertising network names Seiter & Miller as New York partner, filling key international hub.

AMIN Worldwide has selected Seiter & Miller as its New York member following a lengthy search process that involved more than a dozen independent agencies. The alliance gives AMIN agencies and clients an independent asset in the world's largest advertising market, and expands the scope and reach of Seiter & Miller's capabilities. The move fills a gap for AMIN--which has been without a New York presence since Publicis acquired former member Avrett Free & Ginsburg in 2007--and adds BDO, Kyocera, NYU and Smith & Wollensky to its client network.

AMIN is a pioneer among independent agency networks, which are gaining popularity as multi-regional clients look for broader market coverage from shops. In addition to widening members' effective geographic reach, the network also creates economies of scale and provides shared services such as media research, legal support, best practices and technology. Seiter & Miller joins 27 U.S. agencies--whose clients include Caterpillar, Disney, Fuji, Gerber and Kellogg's--and 25 European and Asian agencies.

"New York is a linchpin market for us," said AMIN president Bill Coontz, president of Kruskopf Coontz Advertising (Minneapolis, MN). "Seiter & Miller is a fiercely independent agency with a stellar creative reputation. They've demonstrated quality and stability for 20 years, and they do excellent in-house media planning and buying across traditional and digital media. They're a tremendous asset as we seek to deepen our footprint with leading brands."

AMIN's membership consists solely of full-service, independently owned advertising agencies. As publicly owned conglomerates have grown and proliferated, the number of truly independent shops has shrunk to a handful. "Seiter & Miller is a rare example of a successful, employee owned agency working on a scale that includes national accounts with visible and admired campaigns," added Coontz

"We will be anchoring the world's advertising hub for a one-of-a-kind network," said Livingston Miller, CEO of Seiter & Miller. "That's an honor and responsibility we take seriously. And the on-the-ground expertise we gain around the world is a benefit our clients will appreciate and use."
