Wine Enthusiast Magazine went to the Big House, and they liked it. The magazine's editors selected the 2008 Big House White Wine as the number one best buy for 2009. The review of this criminally good wine topped Wine Enthusiast Magazine's list of 100 Best Buys for 2009 in the November issue.

An unusual blend of Malvasia Bianca, Muscat Canelli, Viognier and Roussanne from California, the 2008 Big House White ($10) beat the scores of better known Chardonnays, Cabernet Sauvignons and other wines from around the world. The wine had previously been rated 90 points by Wine Enthusiast Magazine. The high score combined with the $10 bottle price put the wine into consideration for the year's top 100 Best Buys.

"Big House White is such a fun wine to drink and to make," noted winemaker and "Warden" Georgetta Dane. "It's great to see it get such prominent recognition for quality and value."

The Big House wines are characterized by their aromatics, the preservation of fruit, minimal oak, and a food-friendly attitude. The line up includes Big House Red, White and Pink along with four wines in its "Upper Cellblock" tier: "The Slammer" (aka Syrah), "The Birdman" (aka Pinot Grigio), "The Prodigal Son" (aka Petite Sirah) and "The Lineup"(aka Grenache/Syrah/ Mourvèdre). With its full portfolio of wines, Big House aims to liberate and educate consumers about the myriad California wines and styles beyond Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay. Both Big House and the Upper Cellblock collection can be found at wine retailers across the nation. For more information, visit the Big House Website http:// Big House Wines Website
